pay off debt with Ashley Patrick

Ashley Patrick is a financial coach and the founder of Budgets Made Easy. During her years as a detective, Ashley and her husband accumulated over $45,000 in debt, including a 401k loan and $25,000 in student loans.

The “Light Bulb” Moment

But Ashley finally decided that she had enough of being on bondage to debt. And she went all-in on paying it off as fast as possible. And the intense focus paid off in a great way.

Ashley and her husband were able to pay off the full $45,000 in just 17 months! And it only took them 10 months to pay off the $25,000 in student loans.

Ashley explains the decisions led them into debt in the first place and the “light bulb moment” that finally got them serious about kicking their debt to the curb for good. We also talk about some of the key budget items that they needed to cut back on in order to reach their debt payoff goals.

Launching Out as a Financial Coach

Ashley’s success led her to want to share her knowledge with others. So she put in the work to become a certified Ramsey Financial Coach. She also launched a website where visitors can find helpful blog posts and downloadable budget planners and printables.

But Ashley wasn’t done yet. She launched an awesome podcast too!

Soon Ashley was able to quit her job as a detective and focus 100% on her new business. She shares the biggest pros and cons of being self-employed and her tips for scaling a business.
